The Cora 5001 Raman analyzer from Anton Paar GmbH allows the rapid, reliable identification of substances based on their distinct chemical fingerprint, as well as the efficient monitoring of chemical changes.
Two models are available: the Fiber model enables analysis outside the instrument via a probe, while the Direct model analyzes samples in a closed compartment. The Direct model is certified as laser Class 1, highlighting its focus on user safety.
Users can operate the Cora 5001 with only minimal training, thanks to its intuitive guided analysis processes. These benchtop instruments’ small footprint and optional battery power make them versatile tools for a wide range of analytical tasks, whether these are being performed in-house or in the field.
Key Features
The Cora 5001 Raman analyzer offers an array of innovative, powerful features.
Safe and Easy: A Class 1 Laser Product with Intuitive User Guidance

Even inexperienced users, new employees, or students can learn to operate the Cora 5001 Raman spectrometers within minutes. New users can perform safe, efficient Raman spectroscopy measurements within a very short time.
Unlike a significant number of handheld instruments, the Cora 5001 Direct Raman instruments have laser Class 1 specifications. This ensures the instruments are extremely safe to use, and, because the laser may only be activated when the measuring chamber is closed, this instrument poses no risk to people working in its vicinity.
No Sample Preparation and an Array of Efficiency-Boosting Accessories

The Cora 5001 includes appropriate sample holders to accommodate a range of solid, liquid, and powder samples. Vials with a range of diameters and shapes can be used, including round, square, and rectangular vials.
It is also possible to directly analyze solid samples such as pills or sample carriers. All sample holders are fitted with magnets, meaning that these can be quickly and precisely positioned within the instrument and immediate sample measurement can be performed with no need for refocusing.
One Instrument, Many Samples

The Cora 5001 is ideal for users working with fluorescing substances or many different samples. Dual wavelength models provide two different excitation wavelengths in one instrument, allowing them to cover the broadest range of samples and account for possible fluorescence.
Each wavelength is included in its independent optical spectrometer system, meaning that users can analyze the whole range of substances by switching between wavelengths at the click of a button. There is no need to align or recalibrate between analyses.
Ensuring Pharma Compliance with the Anton Paar Spectroscopy Suite

Performing Raman analysis in a regulated environment is significantly more straightforward thanks to the Anton Paar Spectroscopy Suite.
Intuitive workflows guide the operator through daily analysis tasks, while laboratory managers are given useful guidance on setting up methods and managing reference databases.
The system’s comprehensive signing and version tracking ensure complete traceability, while advanced audit trail commenting and search functionality facilitate audits. All data is securely stored in an SQL database.
Autofocus: Maintain the Strongest Signal for Reproducible Results
There are several challenges associated with manually focusing onto thin or opaque samples with a weak Raman signal. The Cora 5001’s powerful autofocus feature addresses this issue by automatically finding the location with the best Raman signal within seconds. This feature ensures reproducibility by essentially making the analysis independent of the user.
