For over 50 years, CILAS, subsidiary of ArianeGroup and Areva, has been at the leading edge of the modern technology sector thanks to its unique expertise in laser and optronics.

CILAS develops, manufactures and markets a wide range of products and systems for defence, security, space and industrial instrumentation. The company is also involved in scientific laser programs.

CILAS'​ defense and security activites include :

target laser designator for laser guided ammunitions ;

surveillance and laser optics detection for counter-sniping, counter-intelligence and protection of critical infrastructures ;

helicopter visual landing aid systems to secure in extreme conditions (night and bad weather conditions) approach and landing on naval vessels or platforms.

Optical activities include :

design and manufacturing of optical thin film coatings ;

adaptive optics and deformable mirrors for the correction of wavefront deformations generated by a turbulent environement.

On behalf of the CEA, CILAS manufactures the laser amplifiers that are integrated on the Laser MegaJoule (LMJ) and will amplify the laser beam to the required power level.
