The Brinell Optical Scanning System (B.O.S.S), equipped with a high-resolution video scanning head and imaging software, ensures quick, precise, and reliable readings of every Brinell impression. This system is designed to integrate seamlessly with a user's or company's computer.
TTolerances can be employed and indicated through green, yellow, or red signals. It can also generate thorough test reports that include the ability to image-capture video impressions.
The B.O.S.S. measures measures Brinell imprints more quickly, precisely, and reliably. It enhances user quality control by offering extensive data gathering and analysis capabilities, such as saving the impression’s high-resolution image.
The B.O.S.S. system includes a high-resolution video scanning head and video imagery software designed to operate in a Windows® environment. This software and scanning head can be added to an existing computer. Alternatively, a complete “turn-key” system can be provided, including a desktop, laptop, or tablet-style computer, printer, and a movable protective cabinet.
The operation is straightforward. Simply 'click' the video scanning head onto the imprint. A high-quality still image of the impression is then generated and measured with a 0.01 mm resolution using video software. This process is quick and simple, whether the measurements are on the ground, a smooth surface, dark gray iron, or light-reflecting metal.
The image, the Brinell measurement (HB5 or HB30), indenter and load information, and tolerance findings will all be displayed. Tolerance warning values can be used to identify images with green/yellow/red indicators to indicate the tolerance type. An audible alert can be used to indicate out-of-tolerance results. The results can be automatically converted to various scales in accordance with ASTM E-140.
Statistical reports, including X-bar and R charts and histograms, can be generated. The system also allows for the automatic averaging of results within a user-defined group of tests. Regardless of the operator, the B.O.S.S. system ensures consistency, precision, and efficiency.
B.O.S.S Features and Benefits
Automatic measurement of Brinell impressions
Elimination of operator variability
Constant contrast technique
Instantaneous impression image capture
Comprehensive data management
Every result is time and date-stamped, and SPC data reveals patterns to prevent out-of-tolerance circumstances
