Established in 1972, Brandstrom Instruments, Inc. manufactures and designs miniature rotary solenoids and shutter devices for military, commercial and industrial applications.Specified for their compact size, low power consumption and high resultant force, these precision built electromechanical devices have been used for decades in cockpit panel instrumentation to drive fluorescent flag and drum displays that reliably monitor and alert pilots to changes in circuit conditions as they occur in an aircraft during flight.

Recently our miniature electromagnetic products have satisfied an increasing need for specialized shutter mechanisms in infrared imaging, medical and laser applications. Our shutters open and close ports and pathways, and block light beams from photosensitive areas undergoing calibration or analysis.
