Anthony Andrew Berger came to Houston, Texas from Detroit, Michigan in 1893 at the age of thirty for the specific purpose of opening an ornamental iron fabrication business. When he arrived, he founded A.A. Berger Houston Art Metal Works Company and fabricated useful and ornamental wire and ironwork of all kinds.

He steadily built his customer base and a reputation for quality; over time, a strong, well-respected company grew. Years later in 1954, Berger Iron Works Inc. was incorporated and continues to grow and serve Houston and surrounding areas with top-quality, hand-crafted steel fabrication. Today, Berger is predominately suited for the commercial construction industry but is still the leading choice of many of the most elegant estates in Houston, Galveston, Austin, and more.
