Bartington Instruments is a world leader in the design and manufacture of high precision fluxgate magnetometers and magnetic susceptibility instruments. Over 80% of its products are exported throughout the world. The Company employs 20 people in product design, marketing and administration, assembly and test and quality control. Some product manufacture and software development is subcontracted.

The Company sells a range of single and three-axis fluxgate magnetometers into the physics and defence markets. Our magnetometers are used for site surveys prior to the installation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment and for active shielding of magnetically sensitive instrumentation. Applications in defence include magnetic signature control and surveillance. Customers include the US and UK navies, the US army, navies world-wide and Companies such as GE Medical Systems and Siemens Medical Solutions.
