Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI) is a leading developer and manufacturer of comprehensive solutions for Cytogenetics and Pathology imaging and data management needs. With its superior quality image capture (acquisition) abilities, ASI provides state of the art diagnostic aids. All solutions are integrated into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), which incorporates Picture Archive Communication System (PACS). The company owns more than 30 patents in the US alone, and other patents in Europe and Japan. These patents cover general use spectral imaging, image analysis, scanning techniques, spectroscopy in life science and medicine and patents for specific applications.

SpectraCube® is the light-related platform technology Applied Spectral Imaging developed. It is based on spectral imaging. Without going into a lot of technical details, it uses light's unique qualities to display information in an image that you couldn't see before. With SpectraCube®, for example, you can distinguish between different materials even if they look identical. Here, in the image on the left, it is difficult to differentiate between the red dyes. In the image on the right, the three dyes are classified by SpectraCube® and then displayed in unique colors.
