Pocket-Probe Analog Pyrometers are rugged industrial pyrometers. They were developed by Electronic Development Labs, Inc. in 1960 as dependable, compact, and portable temperature measuring instruments for industrial and laboratory use.

EDL engineered an exclusive bi-metal and thermistor compensation network to automatically adjust for changes in room (ambient) temperatures. This innovation distinguished Pocket-Probe as the industry standard.
