6800 Series: Multi-Station System

The 6800 Series Multi-Station System from Instron provides improved throughput with its potential to execute concurrent, independent tests on up to five separate specimens utilizing a single load frame.

Depending on the standard 68TM-30 testing frame (30 kN capacity), this system is ideal when test times are prolonged due to the high elongation or slow test speeds.

If the test techniques and expected outcomes are similar for the specimens being tested, this system is the perfect solution for profitable and effective materials testing. It will help laboratories sustain the high throughput needs of high-speed or multiple production lines.

The pre-configured Multi-Station System fulfills most test laboratory needs for executing concurrent tests. Users could test one to five specimens simultaneously based on their workload.

The system functions smoothly with Bluehill^® Universal materials testing software and can potentially display all needed transducer channels on live displays. Bluehill Universal for Multi-Station displays live graphs available for all specimens under test. The tests end only when suitable criteria are fulfilled for all specimens being tested.

The testing frame has 3 or 5 load strings in various heights, widths, and pitches, enabling several peripheral equipment and load string configurations. An additional height frame is an option for high-elongation materials.

The wide pitch, with a horizontal spacing of 165 mm (6.5 in), is essential when utilizing long travel XL extensometers and will house both the 1 and 2 kN pneumatic side action grips.

The narrow pitch, with a horizontal spacing of 140 mm (5.5 in), is crucial while using an environmental chamber and will house the 1 kN pneumatic side action grips.

Multi-Station Systems have been configured for an extensive range of applications. General system components are explained below but could be configured for several applications.
