我们的 SASPjecttrade； 平台利用工程细菌病毒（噬菌体）将被称为小酸溶性孢子蛋白（SASP）的全谱抗菌蛋白递送至选定的细菌种类。SASPjecttrade； 的工作原理是将编码 SASP 的基因直接注射到目标细菌中。注射的基因会指示目标细菌产生 SASP，然后 SASP 会与细菌 DNA 结合并使其失活。SASP 会“关闭”DNA，使目标细菌细胞无法代谢或繁殖。然后，免疫系统可以将细菌从体内清除。
SASP 可以与所有细菌 DNA 结合，无论 DNA 序列如何。DNA 的自发突变，或输入新的 DNA 并赋予细菌细胞新的特性，是细菌产生抗生素耐药性的关键途径。这两种策略都不会影响 SASP 结合和灭活细菌 DNA 的能力。
