美国National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

美国国家标准与技术研究所 (NIST) 成立于 1901 年，现隶属于美国商务部。NIST 是美国历史最悠久的物理科学实验室之一。美国国会成立该机构是为了消除当时对美国工业竞争力的重大挑战——二流的测量基础设施，其能力落后于英国、德国和其他经济竞争对手。

从智能电网和电子健康记录到原子钟、先进的纳米材料和计算机芯片，无数产品和服务都在某种程度上依赖于美国国家标准与技术研究所提供的技术、测量和标准。
