美因茨约翰内斯古腾堡大学 (JGU) 拥有来自 120 多个国家的约 32,000 名学生，是德国规模最大、最多元化的大学之一。JGU 拥有大学医学中心、艺术学院、音乐学院以及位于格默斯海姆的翻译研究、语言学和文化研究学院，涵盖几乎所有学科。在 150 多个研究所和诊所，4,400 名学者（其中 560 名是教授）从事教学和研究。 JGU 提供 75 个学科和众多组合，这意味着学生可以获得 260 多个学科的学位。
